There was a time when parents gave sensible and logical names to their children. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore and some of the names given these days are just ridiculous.
Bob Geldof started it all when deciding to name his daughter, Fifi Trixibelle. That must have been fun for her at school. A few decades later, the name game is even more crazy and the Kardashian’s seem to have cornered the market in incomprehensible names.
Kim Kardashian and Kayne West already have three children. They’re called North, Saint and Chicago. Perhaps after the first child, we were all expecting South and East to follow but they let us all down. Now a fourth child is on its way and the betting is on to see what they’ll come up with this time.
It’s a good market to bet on as it’s 8/1 (9.0) the field at Betfair with Robert the favourite. Surely that’s a bit too straightforward a name for this couple. Second favourite is Jay and you can get 10/1 (11.0) at Paddy Power on that being the child’s name. Could they play the trump card and choose Donald? It’s 14/1 (15.0) at Betfair that they do.
It’s all a bit plain so far isn’t it? Now it gets a bit crazier and the fourth favourite is Jesus. That’s 20/1 (21.0) at Paddy Power and would certainly cause a stir if chosen. Not quite as much as if Harry and Meghan choose that name for their child, no wonder it’s 225/1 (226.0) at Betfair on that decision being made.
Previous decisions on names for children have been based on where Kayne grew up (Chicago), or a rumour in the press (North). Perhaps Kim and Kayne are going through a religious phase, who knows with this couple!
How Do They Come up With Them?
It’s hard to predict what this family will do next, though they’ll aim to make some money out of it. Here’s a family whose names include Mason Dash Disick, Penelope Scotland Disick and Dream Renée Kardashian.
There are a few more unorthodox names on the list. Yeezy or Weezy are both 250/1 (251.0) at Paddy Power. Rather worryingly, the odds of the child being named West West are only 66/1 (67.0) at Betfair.
