Top 10 Barclays Premier League Summer Transfer Window Signings Who’ve Made a Real Impact

As the January 2019 transfer window draws to a close let’s have a look at 10 players, who changed clubs during the 2018 summer window, and have made a significant impact this season.

10. Richarlison. Everton. 21 year old forward from Espírito Santo in Brazil. Richarlison signed for a reported fee of £35M, that could rise to £50M, from Watford. With 10 goals and 1 assist so far this season.

9. Aleksandar Mitrovic. Fulham.

24 year old forward from Smederevo in Serbia. Mitrovic signed for a reported fee of £22M, that could rise to £27M, from Newcastle after a season-long loan. With 10 goals and 2 assists, for a team that seems destined for relegation, this is no mean achievement.


8. James Maddison. Leicester

22 year old midfielder from Coventry in England. Maddision signed for a reported fee of £20 million from Norwich. With 5 goals and 4 assists, Maddision has stepped up well to the Premier League.

7. Willy Boly. Wolverhampton Wanderers

27 year old defender from Melun in France. Boly signed for a reported fee of £12M from Porto after a season-long lone. With 5 clean sheets and 2 goals, he’s a big part of Wolverhampton’s success story this season.

6. Riyad Mahrez. Manchester City

27 year old midfielder from Sarcelles in France. Mahrez signed for a reported fee of £60M from Leicester City. Mahrez, capped 49 times by Algeria, is another of the cultured left foot brigade with 5 goals and 2 assists from his 19 appearances this season. Consistently 1 of the Barclays Premier Leagues top dribblers over the last 4 seasons.

5. Issa Diop. West Ham United

The Toulouse born 22 year old French defender signed from Toulouse for a reported fee of £22M. At 1.94m (6ft 4in) he’s a huge unit at the back for West Ham and making a real impact. Manchester United has shown interest along with Barcelona.

25 year old midfielder from Campinas in Brazil. Fabinho signed for a reported fee of £39M from Monaco. It took him a while to adjust but he’s now made 15 appearances with 1 goal and 2 assists. He showed his versatility by stepping back into the centre of the Liverpool defence and performing very well.

3. Felipe Anderson. West Ham United

25 year old midfielder from Santa Maria in Brazil. Anderson signed for a reported fee of £36M from Lazio and has 8 goals and 2 assists to date. He’s a dribbling king and topped the Serie A completed dribble charts in 2016/17 with 117.

2. Alisson Becker. Liverpool

26 year old goalkeeper from the Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. Becker signed for a reported fee of £66.8M from Roma. With 13 clean sheets to date, he could be the missing link that brings the Barclays Premier League title to Anfield for the first time.

1. David Brooks. Bournemouth.

21 year old midfielder from Warrington in England. Brooks signed for a reported fee of £11.5M from Sheffield United. The Welsh international Brooks, who as a youngster spent 10 years on Manchester City’s books, has taken to the Barclays Premier League like a duck to water. With his cultured left foot, he gets himself in great areas and never panics. He’s been a revelation this season with 6 goals and 4 assists to date Bournemouth might struggle to keep hold of him during the next summer transfer window.
