One of the largest television station owners in America, Sinclair Broadcast Group, is partnering up with the Vegas Stats and Information Network, also known as VSiN. The partnership is to bring sports betting content to broadcast viewers in the state of Nevada.
What Does This Partnership Provide?
The show, called “Point Spread Weekly: Powered by Vegas Stats and Information Network,” began airing on Sinclair’s television station, My LVTV, on Friday, February 15. The show will air 11:00 p.m. (PT) in the Las Vegas Market.
Hall-of-Fame sportscaster Brent Musburger is the program’s host. VSiN says that Musburger is offering gambling advice compiled by VSiN handicappers.
“Our viewers now have a program that will deliver the information they want in a concise half-hour package,” said My LVTV General Manager Larry Strumwasser. “Las Vegas broadcast television has been devoid of a program like this for too long.”
Sinclair owns, operates, and/or provides service to over 190 television stations in nearly 90 markets. Its stations cover about 40 percent of the U.S. broadcast marketplace.
VSiN primarily originates from the sportsbook at the South Point Casino Hotel Spa in Las Vegas with some programming coming from the Ocean Resort in Atlantic City, N.J.
VSiN Starting To Face Competition
VSiN, which was the first to enter the multi-media sports wagering information space in 2017, is starting to face an increase in competition from new offerings that directly appeal to sports bettors.
Some of the programming competition includes Turner Broadcasting, which through its affiliate Bleacher Report, recently announced their plans to build a studio at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to offer similar programming to that of VSiN.
Another main competitor is SI/The Line, which provides sports wagering and fantasy sports programming on Sports Illustrated’s streaming service.
