The popularity of placing bets on sporting events and modern high-tech esports has left old-fashioned board and arcade games out of the loop.

Leave it to a true American classic to stand as the lone exception.

MyBookie is offering futures odds on the upcoming Stern Pro Circuit Championship of pinball. The gala will include dozens upon dozens of professional flipper-fiends in a “last person standing” elimination tournament held at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, March 9th.

Pinball is not an oft-televised game. But the Costa Rican sportsbook may be banking on the fact that this particular tourney will be streamed on multiple platforms online, including YouTube and Twitch TV.

There will be celebrity appearances as well. The evening’s host is Brian “Q” Quinn from Impractical Jokers, and Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies will perform a musical set. Jack Danger, host of the “Dead Flip” pinball channel on Twitch.com, will take over the emcee duties when the players are ready to begin.

Mostly men appear to be entered in the Stern tourney, but at least one lady stands out from the pack. Sunshine Bon is a 41-year-old single mother from North Carolina who began playing professionally in Florida several years ago. She’s considered the finest pinball talent in the Tar Heel State but is a 100/1 long-shot underdog to win the event in March.

The sportsbook marks #1 ranked pinball wizard Raymond Davidson, who won back-to-back IFPA World Pinball Championship titles in 2017 and 2018, as the odds-on favorite at 7/4.

Stern Pro Circuit Championship ticket listings offer a general door time of 5 PM though there is not yet a listed start time for the live-streaming event.
