There is an 11-day tournament in Milwaukee at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino as we speak. It will determine if players will win the ultimate grand prize and get an entry in the world championships.
The World Series of Poker United States Circuit Tour is making its rounds across the United States. This will be one of 29 events of the tour that will hit multiple cities. Elite poker players from all over the country are participating in this event. If a poker player comes out on top in 1st place, they will receive the grand prize of $750,000 and the opportunity to play in the global championship. Overall, they will get over $1 million in total prize money and the chance to win even more during the worldwide event.
People Flock to the Casino with High Hopes
Currently, there are 300 people at the casino in Milwaukee, putting their skills to the test hoping to win these fabulous prizes. Many believe they will become the lucky one, but there is only room for that special player.
Approximately 8,000 people in total are expected to arrive at Potawatomi to try their hands at the tournament. To register, players need to pay the base fee of $400. Last year’s event attracted more than 5500 people to Milwaukee, and long-time poker player Keven Stammen won the prize.
Cartwright Took Home the Horseshoe Tunica Event
The previous stop of the tour was a few days ago at the Horseshoe Tunica in Robinsonville, Tunica County, Mississippi. That event attracted 639 people who got eliminated one by one. Kyle Cartwright, a big wig in the poker world, took home the cash winnings, $1 million prize, a gold ring, and a World Series Poker entry.
The games for the 2019 tournament are No Limit Hold’em, where players can bet as much as they want, and Omaha Hold’em, where there are more cards dealt before the flop. This event will last from January 31st to February 11th, and the Main Event is between February 8 to 11th.
