Paddy Power Punters Hoping for FA Cup Upsets

The FA Cup is renowned for its shock results and a few this weekend could result in some big wins for punters. We have two potentially lucrative bets placed by Paddy Power customers both with odds of over 300/1.

The first is a win double and half of the bet doesn’t even need the favourites to lose to a lower league team. You can get 371/1 on Championship side Sheffield Wednesday winning away at Chelsea and Burnley upsetting their Premier League rivals Manchester City.

Burnley were 13/1 when the bet was placed, and their opponents will field a weakened team. Trouble is most of City’s reserves would get in Burnley’s first team. They met in the FA Cup last season with City winning 4-1, but the cup is all about shocks and City did lose to Wigan last season.

Cup Holders to be Knocked Out?

Sheffield Wednesday are still waiting for Steve Bruce to take over as boss. They travel to the FA Cup holders who have just made it through to the Carabao Cup final. It’s a hard task but another Yorkshire team Bradford City did go to Chelsea in 2015 and beat them 4-2.

Another Paddy Power bet needs three upsets to happen this weekend at odds of 324/1. First up, League Two Newport County (who beat Leicester in the last round) have to defy odds of 9/1 to win at Championship side Middlesbrough. They’ll take heart from the fact Boro have already lost at home to Burton Albion this season.

Hammer Blow for West Ham

Millwall to beat Everton at home is only7/2 and a trip to the New Den isn’t going to be an easy one for the Premier League club. The final leg requires League One strugglers AFC Wimbledon to beat West Ham at home. It’s 13/2 but the Hammers lost to Wigan last year, so who knows this optimistic treble might just be a big winner.
