Some people watch the Super Bowl for the love of the game, many fans follow it because their favorite team is in the game. Non-football people pay attention for the commercials, and sports bettors are interested because of the Prop Bets. That final set of fans, the sports bettors, are in luck as the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has already posted over 400 prop bets for the game.

While the spread of the game itself features the New England Patriots as slight favorites over the Los Angeles Rams, more attention will be on the prop bets available for this huge event. One of the most popular prop bets for the Super Bowl is the coin toss. Most sportsbooks offer reduced juice for this prop to entice action and Westgate has both heads and tails set at -102 for the game.

Prop odds for who will win the MVP opened up much like we figured it would. Tom Brady is the favorite, while Jared Goff is second. Brady is listed at 1/1 odds, while Goff is 2/1. Todd Gurley and Sony Michel, lead running back’s for both teams are listed at 16/1.

The prop for the total touchdowns in the game started at 6.5, and the total yards coming from field goals in the game is set at 122.5. There are prop bets for the pre-game, halftime, and postgame.

A few of the more “off the wall” bets include the national anthem, which is performed by Gladys Knight and how long it takes her to complete the song. Plus you can bet on the color of sweatshirt head coach Bill Belichick will wear, and the color of Gatorade poured over the winning coach’s head are some other interesting betting options.

Westgate even has prop bets that include “non-football” related celebrities. Names such as James Harden, Kevin Durant, Zion Williamson, Phil Mickelson, and President Trump can all be found in prop bets of some kind. Bettors have until game time on February 3, 2019, to get their prop wagers in. A season ago, more than $158M was bet on the Super Bowl across various Vegas sportsbooks. This year most expect that dollar amount to increase even more.
