England got another easy win on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Bulgaria. That took them back to the top of thIS Euro 2020 group. They have had a knack in recent years of finding themselves in relatively easy qualifying groups. The same appears to be happening again and a win over Kosovo will strengthen their position even further.
Three games into this Euro 2020 qualifying group, England have already scored 14 goals. They can be backed at odds of 11/2 (6.5) to win the title next year when the final is played at Wembley. Are England better than the likes of France, Belgium, Spain and Germany remains to be seen, because this group won’t tell us.
This isn’t the hardest of groups with the Czech Republic in disappointing form. The weekend saw them lose to Kosovo leaving them in third place in the group, three points behind England with a game played more.
They travel to Montenegro the same day as England’s game against Kosovo. A win for England and the Czechs failing to win will make England’s qualification a question of when not if. England were again in good form at the weekend as they beat Bulgaria 4-0 at home. Harry Kane was the hat-trick hero and he is 2/5 (1.4) at Ladbrokes to score in this game.
This game isn’t being played at Wembley Stadium, instead fans will be heading to St Mary’s in Southampton. That shouldn’t affect England at all and it’s good to see other grounds getting the chance to stage an England international. England are a skimpy 1/14 (1.07) at Coral to win this game but three more points look to be on their way for Gareth Southgate’s team.
Kosovo are second in this group with eight points from their four games. That’s a point behind England but from one game more. They are 60/1 (61.0) to win this game if your wager is placed with Unibet. They are already assured of a play-off place. That’s because they won their Nations League group earlier this season. Kosovo finished ahead of Azerbaijan, Malta and the Faroe Islands. They were unbeaten but could only draw in Azerbaijan and Malta. Not quite the form that will scare England.
Kosovo have made strides in this group though and could well finish in the top two with a current two point lead over the Czechs. They lost nine out of ten games in their 2018 World Cup qualifying group, so this season has been a real improvement for them.
So far in this group, they have earned four points against Bulgaria. It took a 93rd minute goal to get them a 3-2 away win over them. Kosovo also drew against Montenegro (it’s 20/1 (21.0) at Bet365 this game ends level) and beaten the Czech Republic at the weekend.
This is the first time the two nations have met.
England didn’t pick up any injuries in the game against Bulgaria on Saturday.
Harry Kane scored tw from the penalty spot in England’s win over Bulgaria. Bet365 will give you odds of 3/1 (4.0) that England score a penalty against Kosovo. The same bookies will give you 10/1 (11.0) on England missing a penalty in this match.
Hat-Trick Time Again
The last two England home games in this group have seen players score hat-tricks. Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane have both managed that feat. Will there be a hat-trick in this match? It’s 15/2 (8.5) at William Hill that Kane hits another hat-trick against Kosovo. If you think Raheem Sterling will bag a hat-trick, a trip to SkyBet will see you receive odds of 18/1 (19.0).
England are in another relatively easy group which probably won’t help them in the long run. They take on Kosovo who could only draw at home to Bulgaria and draw in Montenegro. A bet on England to win with over 2.5 goals scored in the game has odds of 4/9 (1.44) at Betway.
