Dundee are fighting hard to avoid relegation after spending most of the season bottom of the table. A run of decent results has taken them up to tenth in the table but only out of the relegation play-off place on goal difference. They continue their bid to save their Premiership skins with a home game against eighth-placed Hibs.

Latest Odds

It’s been another difficult season for Dundee but they have showed some improved form since the end of the winter break. Five league games have produced eight points taking them off the foot of the table and up to 10th position. They are still 8/15 (1.52) at SkyBet to finish in the bottom two.

They really are in their own mini-league with Hamilton (who they are above only on goal difference) and St Mirren who are five points adrift at the bottom of the table. There’s a 13-point gap to ninth place so it’s two out of three to end up in the relegation places.

Dundee have had wins over Hearts and Livingston in their last five games. That’s a massive improvement on the run of one point from five games in the weeks leading up to the winter break.

Both those successes were away from home and their record at the Kilmac Stadium leaves a lot to be desired. Only one out of 13 home league games has ended in a Dundee victory. That was against ninth-placed Hamilton at the start of December. Their first six home games were all lost but since then only two have ended in defeat with one win and four draws.

Their most recent home league match was a 2-2 draw with fourth-placed Kilmarnock. They led 1-0 and 2-1 and missed a late penalty but it shows they are improving. It’s 7/2 (4.5) at Betfair they beat Hibs on Friday.

Their opponents are eighth in the table and have no relegation worries. All they have to fight for in the league is to try and get in the top six when the split takes place and they have three points to make up on St Johnstone. They are in the last eight of the Scottish Cup but host Celtic.

Hibs have only won two of their last nine league games. They were against Hamilton and St Mirren, currently the bottom two teams in the league. Away form this season has been inconsistent with four league wins, three draws and six losses. They have seven points from their last five on the road including a draw at Rangers. Hibs can be backed at 5/6 (1.83) to win this match.

The two sides have met twice this season. Hibs had a 3-0 win at Dundee and should have beaten them at home too. They gave away a 2-0 first-half lead and only drew 2-2. Hibs are unbeaten in their last three away games against Dundee.

Dundee v Hibs Team News

No major injury worries have been reported.

Win from Behind?

Dundee had an important win at Livingston at the weekend but did it the hard way. They trailed in the first half before recovering to win 2-1. They are 53/4 (14.75) at MarathonBet to win this match from behind.

Under 2.5 Goals Possible

Four of the last five Hibs away league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. With four of the last five Dundee home games in the Premiership also ending that way, try the 4/5 (1.8) on under 2.5 goals in this game.

Dundee are fighting hard to avoid relegation and have improved in 2019. Hibs are inconsistent and a double chance bet on Dundee to win or draw looks good. That’s 21/20 (2.05) at Bet365.
