Queens Park Rangers have surprised many this season and at the time of writing are seventh in the Championship. A win in this home game against Brentford will take them back into the play-off positions. Their opponents are 13th in the table, five points behind the play-off positions but only six above the relegation zone.
QPR weren’t among the favourites to win the Championship this season, indeed they were expected to struggle. However, they are currently only outside the play-off positions on goal difference. A win over Brentford will take them to within a point of leaders West Bromwich Albion. You can get odds of 10/1 (11.0) at Betfred on them being promoted this season.
They made a mixed start to the new season with a win and a draw followed by two defeats. Their next four games were all won though, with at least two goals scored in each of them. Defeats to league leaders West Bromwich Albion and away at Cardiff City followed but again Rangers have rallied well.
The last three league games have produced seven points with nine goals scored. It’s 9/5 (2.8) at Betfair that they can beat Brentford on Monday. QPR have won three of their five home league games this season but already lost twice. A win on Monday though will boost their hopes of returning to the Premier League for the first time since the 2014/15 season. If you want to have a slightly different betting experience, try out Betbull.
There are odds of 9/2 (5.5) at Betfred on Brentford being promoted this season. A win in this game would take them to within two points of the play-off positions. They had a busy summer transfer window signing some key players but also losing some important ones.
Brentford had been expected to make a bold bid for promotion but made a poor start to the season. They only won one of their first five league games, away at Middlesbrough who are in the bottom three at present. Not many goals were being scored with four of their first five games ending 1-0.
That run ended when they beat Derby County 3-0 at home but only a point came from the next two games. Three of their last five games have been won though as they try to find some consistency. A trip to Betway will see you being given 7/5 (2.4) on a win over QPR on Monday.
Away performances so far seen them win three and lose four. No draws as yet on their travels. If you think the first will happen on Monday, Ladbrokes will give you odds of 5/2 (3.5).
QPR have only won one of their last seven games against Brentford. The last six have all had over 2.5 goals scored in them. William Hill have odds of 4/6 (1.66) on that stat coming up in this game.
Queens Park Rangers have striker Jordan Hugill suspended for this match. Bright Osayi-Samuel is expected to replace him. Brentford are likely to be unchanged.
Brentford come into this game showing more of the form pundits expected them to produce. QPR have scored 23 league goals but conceded the same amount. A draw with over 1.5 goals looks a good bet. The odds on that are 3/1 (4.0) at Paddy Power.
