On Friday, CBS Sports released a new NFL mock draft. This draft is packed with some bold predictions. Let’s look at a few of the highlights.

#3: Washington Redskins Trade Up to Snag Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray has been the personification of a mood swing ever since he won the Heisman trophy at the end of the college season. From quotes about him like, “A baseball player just won the Heisman trophy,” to him reportedly looking for a big sum of money from the Oakland Athletics (to keep him out of the NFL draft), he has been all over the media. Now that he is definitely going to pursue football, Murray looks to be the top dog for the Quarterback position. Murray is mobile and is a polished pocket passer, theoretically making him a good fit for Jay Gruden’s offense.

However, many fans will fear Murray being the next injury liability in the nation’s capital. Trading enough to get this pick from the Jets will be a big risk for Washington, so the question is: Is he worth it?

#6: Dwayne Haskins Will Be Eli Manning’s Protege

Haskins might lack the flashy running ability that makes Murray entertaining for fans, but the Ohio State product has a good-sized frame at 6’3. He is also a great pocket passer, signaling he might be the more “NFL ready” of the two. Should the Giants decide to spend this pick on him, he will also be set up to learn under two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, despite rumors that Russell Wilson may be replacing the injured Manning. If Wilson is in the picture, the Giants may pass on the young Haskins and look for a weapon to put alongside him.

#12: Packers Skip Offensive Concerns to Shore Up Defense

Despite the obvious holes in Green Bay’s offense, this draft is absolutely loaded with top-tier defensive talent. CBS Sports has them taking Montez Sweat out of Mississippi State. Sweat is a long, high-octane edge rusher that could take some of the pass-rushing pressure off of Clay Matthews. This is one of the more intriguing picks in the draft, as there will likely be pressure on any new additions to help salvage what can only be described as the beginning of the end of Aaron Rodgers’ dominance over the NFC North.

The betting influence of this draft will obviously not totally come to light until after it has occurred. However, with the potentially dominating defense and the future of NFL franchises at the Quarterback position coming through this draft, it is a matter of who gets the best value for their investment.
